Here we get another great release from Bandai through their Realization line. For those who didn’t care for the Samurai Spider-Man’s aesthetics, this Iron Man might be more up your alley. QC issues have been hit and miss with this line, most have clean paint apps but you do get some slop sometimes, or issues with the joint engineering, but I don’t have any of those issues with my Manga Realization Iron Man. Granted I have some gripes about this figure, more so the line in general, any Iron Man or Samurai fan should be pleased with this figure. So, what’s in the box?Iron ManKatana and SheathJetpackKatana holding hands L/RRepulsor blast hands L/RFists L/RA flight stand would have been nice, or if this line started including alternate unmasked heads, but we do get a decent amount here. And I still like the shoe box and clam shell inside, some of the best and easiest collector friendly packaging anyone’s currently doing. Of course the paint applications are nice, there’s a great airbrush effect on the breast and back plate that gives it a worn, almost scorched look to it, and there’s great washes all over to add depth to the paint deco. I like the color scheme here, I like the weathering and highlighted bits. I like that the gold is gold, not yellow, and that red is a crimson color. All of the accessories are nicely painted as well, the jetpack could use another coat of washes, or line detailing, and something on the hilt for the Katana would have been nice like we got on the Samurai Spider-Man. Overall the paint is clean and nice and adds to the solid sculpt. The articulation might be something people have issues with. If you’ve gotten any of the Film Realization Star Wars Samurai figures or got the Samurai Spider-Man, then you know what to expect here. The right knee on mine is a bit more loose than the left, so this may not be an issue with the entire figure release. I’ve gotten some of these that the figure just wants to pop apart, or some that won’t stand due to loose joints, but for the most part this works out just fine. The matchlock pistols that function as the repulsor blasters do get in the way at times but they look awesome and with patience you’ll be able to pull off some great poses. I think the neck is a bit long on this figure, other than that I love the way this figure looks and functions and all the stuff he comes with. If you’re a Marvel or Iron Man fan, or have been collecting this line from Bandai, this is a must have. And this line is continuing, we’ll be getting a Symbiote variant of Spider-Man in all black armor, Hulk (rather than in armor he looks like a Yokai), a Wolverine and more so I’m all in on this line. This figure comes FULLY APPROVED.
